Our Own Health Centre
Our Own Health Centre is the expansion of the former Gay Men's Health Clinic which was started by Dr. Dick Smith. We have a long history of dedicated service to Gay, Bisexual, and other men who have sex with men and we now offer care to the entire 2SLGBTQ+ community.
OOHC is a registered charity. We use charitable funds to pay our rent, offer free counselling to our patients who cannot afford it, and to buy the expensive test kits so that we can offer free HIV testing to people at Pride and other events.
Our Story
Our Own Health Centre is a Winnipeg medical clinic which specializes in care for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Our unique clinic is award-winning and nationally recognized for its work.
Our Own Health Centre (OOHC) staff believe in holistic health care. In addition to Family Medicine, we offer sexual health care, mental health counseling, smoking/addiction programs, diabetes care, and financial counselling.
Our Mission
Our primary vision is that 2SLGBTQ+ people and MSM deserve optimal health care which takes into account the specific health and wellness needs of each individual. So, our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of 2SLGBTQ+ people and MSM in Manitoba.
