Family Medicine Services

Our Own Health Centre offers Family Medicine services to everybody in Winnipeg and surrounding areas.

While all men share the same general health issues, there are some issues more specific to Gay, Bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM).

Our Own Health Centre delivers both Family Medicine, and judgement-free care for all the things unique to Gay, Bisexual and other MSM.

Special Services

At OOHC, we believe that optimal health depends on more than just medical care. We are in interdisciplinary facility and offer many special services to keep people healthy.

Our Team of Professionals

As a medical clinic, we focus on Family Medicine delivered by physicians. But we also believe that overall wellness depends on more than just excellent medical care. So, to keep you healthy, we also work closely with a fitness consultant and a pharmacist.
We also can arrange for mental health counseling and sexology consultations.

The Exchange District

The Exchange District is a National Historic Site of Canada in the downtown area of Winnipeg. This beautiful part of the city is known for its intact early 20th century collection of warehouses, financial institutions, and early terra cotta clad skyscrapers. The "Exchange" also is a vibrant and booming commercial and cultural centre which is home to an eclectic array of specialty retailers, restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries, wholesalers, and condominiums.

Our Own Health Centre anchors the main floor of the Maltese Cross Building which was built in 1909 on a design by local architect J.D. Atchison. The seven-storey building once was home to the Winnipeg Rubber Company. The firm made and sold all manner of rubber products, including belts, hoses, tubes, gaskets, valves, clothing, footwear, and mats. Its trademark, the Maltese Cross, was the basis for the building’s name and an adornment that appears on its exterior and interior.

The space occupied by Our Own Health Centre also has housed the Plug In Gallery of Contemporary Art as well as a previous medical facility and pharmacy, Clinic 1. Our Own Health Centre opened at this site in February 2016 and is proud to offer services to people living and working in The Exchange, but also is glad to bring people from all over Winnipeg to this dynamic part of the city.
